About Willmott Dixon Construction Limited
We build on our history and reputation by undertaking our activities in a sustainable and responsible manner that contributes to society as a whole.
Willmott Dixon is a privately-owned contracting and interior fit-out group. Chief executive Rick Willmott is the fifth generation to lead our business, which was ranked the 42nd largest private company in the UK by the 2017 Sunday Times Top Track list.
We are behind important projects like a new home for the Met Office supercomputer, fit-out of the Design Museum and restoring Alexandra Palace to its former glory. Our passion is to create spectacular outcomes for our customers in the knowledge that our projects have a huge beneficial impact for the UK’s economic growth and prosperity.
Willmott Dixon has for a second time joined an exclusive group of companies in receiving Britain’s most coveted business prize; a Queen’s Award for Enterprise. It is one of only six companies to be recognised in the Promoting Opportunity category of the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise for how its people are enhancing the life opportunities of others. It’s the second year for the new category and there have so far been only a handful of recipients.
Last year, nearly 80 per cent of Willmott Dixon’s people took part in some form of activity that left a positive legacy, with almost 50,000 work time hours spent on activities aimed at improving the life chances of people. This equated to over 1% of staff work time devoted to supporting others, equivalent to £900 invested per employee and £1.95m overall.
Group Chief Executive Rick Willmott said: We have a purpose beyond profit and as the fifth generation to lead Willmott Dixon, I am proud of the difference we are able to make to people’s lives through our Foundation.
