A RECRUITMENT firm is still reeling after winning a category in the most prestigious business awards in Hertfordshire in November.

Smart10, based in WGC, took home the Judges’ Award at last year’s Hertfordshire Business Awards and have not looked back since.

Smart 10 Hertfordshire Business AwardsThe family run company amazingly won the glamorous gong within a year of starting the firm and Emma Brindle, who leads the firm with sister Claire, is still on a high.

She said: “It was a team effort, we all worked hard to achieve it and I think it has grown us as a business.

“We are still riding high on it and it is carrying us into the new year.

“It has given us local recognition.”

After Smart10 – which specialises in recruiting office support staff – finished celebrating on the night, competitors and other firms soon got in touch their toast their success.

Emma puts the company’s new mountainous profile to its rapid expansion, with the business already opening its second office.

She said: “It has absolutely helped us, it’s another very exciting time for us.”

Emma, who returned from Dubai to launch the firm, also believes there are more benefits to be reaped than the prestige and free advertising in the WHT.

She said: “When you work for yourself there is no-one to reward you and say ‘job well done’ or give you a pat on the back.

“It is fantastic to get recognition and for someone to say good job, anyone will know setting up a business in the first year is hard.”
