Herts Business Awards Networking Event September 2011
Cracking good fun
THERE was plenty of cracking good fun at the recent Hertfordshire Business Awards networking event.
Held at the Indulge Restaurant at the North Hertfordshire College Centre for the Arts, Hitchin, the event was held to showcase the forthcoming Hertfordshire Business Awards which is now at the application stage.
After an introduction by organiser Sarah Scott, it was left to James Millman, director of telephone answering company JAM to extol the virtues of entrance to the awards and the potential on offer for those who are successful.
James told how his company won both the Best Medium Sized Business and Creative Innovation awards in 2010 and the effect which it had on his business From the use of the Hertfordshire Business Awards winner's logo on all promotional material and the positive boost the wins gave to staff morale, James encouraged all those in the room to take time out to put their business in the spotlight by entering the 2011 awards.
In a bid to make the networking even more egg-citing guests were invited to part in the Omelette maker or Egg Breaker Challenge? Divided up into five teams, delegates were asked to come up with a marketing campaign for eggs while one team member cooked a two-minute omelette under the guidance of Scott Liversedge head chef at Redcoats Hotel.
After a close contest it was the Birds of a Feather team who were able to crow about their success but those present were left under no illusion that a winning entry at this years awards would prove to be a handy nest-egg for any business.
