Small Business of the Year

This award is open to any business that has a turnover of less than £2m, whose growth, ambition and quality of management has enabled it to deliver on a compelling business strategy.

The economic context of the industry and business will be taken into account by the judges.

The judges will be looking for evidence that include the majority of the following:

Strategy – Evidence of a vision/strategy that may include a Business Plan.

Business Performance – Controlled growth, sustainable and strong performance in the context of the market in which they operate.

Employment & Training – How are your staff within the company given the opportunity to train or be promoted?  And how actively are they encouraged to work as a team or be innovative?
